Thailand Now!
Things are happening here.
Here are links to 2 great sites live-blogging the situation:
Oh, and a bit of advice: don’t even bother with the two English-language “news”papers in Bangkok…unless you have a perverse sense of humor, that is.
UPDATE: New Mandala has started a new thread for the latest events, here:

Wow, things are crazy! Polish president and some of the top officials crashed in Russia, while flying to visit the cite of Katyn massacre where 22,000 of Polish officers were executed by NKVD. Then there are anti-government protests in Kyrgyzstan, and now this! That’s it – I say Isaac Newton miscalculated the end of the world by 50 years!
I hope there won’t be many casualties, and peace will be restored soon. Take care and be safe.
Thank you.
So what’s those two “news”papers’ take on it? Nothing like perverse humor for ugly situations.
Where to start?!
Here’s a great display of one of these newspapers’ views of the poor:

Oh, and remember those fellows that took over the airport to protest the fact that they lost a freely held election? THEY were heroes and freedom fighters. Look here:

I’d guide you to the actual newspaper sites themselves but it’d be hard for you to get the “hilarity” of the statements without being acquainted more deeply with the situation. Let me use a metaphor: in their world zebras are pink and purple and kiwis fly faster than the speed of light. Anyway, here’s a nice, clear post on the situation:

That says it all.
I don’t think I understand D:
So basically you got a crappy leader and he … did something ): ?
Too many sources – I’m getting confused.
Anyway I hope you’re safe and well. Make sure you don’t die or else I will have to kill you.
It’s not just the current PM There have been 18 coups since 1932. Many people have had enough of it.
And don’t worry. I’ll be safe.
Actually, we could use Capt. Harlock right about now…
