Why was Mazinger defeated by the Messiah?

Son: Daddy, why was Mazinger defeated by the Messiah?

Father: Because Kabuki charm trumps Kabuto passion, son.  Deal with it.

Son: Is that the only reason?

Father: Because Sukhoi Su-27s are super sugoi, and any mecha inspired by them will kick butt.  Deal with it.

Son: But is that enough to beat Mazinger?

Father: Child, Zeus was a mighty god, but the Messiah came to whip his ass and prove him false.  Now get out of my cockpit and stop bothering me.

Son: I’m still not convinced…

Father: Listen up, kid.  New things beat old things to a pulp.  It’s the way of the world.  It’s the way it always was and ever will be.

Son: I’m glad to hear you say that.  Hearing that from your mouth means I can go deal with it.  […]  Apprivoise!!

Father: WHAAAT?!  What the hell is that??  You think you can beat me with that??

Son: With these fancy new weapon thingies in hand, of course!

Father: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

<Shiny new mecha annihilates less shiny old mecha.  The end.>
